Walmart has tapped Tom Ward to lead its e-commerce division after the departure of Casey Carl, according to a company memo as first reported by The Wall Street Journal.
The company said Carl would leave at the end of February. It did not share a reason for his departure or future plans. Carl, a longtime Target employee, became Walmart’s chief e-commerce officer in 2020.
Ward, a Walmart veteran, was previously SVP of Last-Mile Delivery, leading the retailer’s effort to turn stores into fulfillment hubs for online grocery orders and overseeing the testing of drones and autonomous vehicles.
