Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. reported net sales for the four-week period ending February 28, 2003, of $18.796 billion, an increase of 9.2 percent over the $17.207 billion in the similar period in the prior year.
The Wal-Mart division’s sales for the four-week period were $12.172 billion, up 9.6 percent over sales of $11.106 billion in the similar prior-year period.
SAM’s CLUB sales for the four-week period were $2.426 billion, up 8.1 percent over sales of $2.244 billion in the similar prior-year period.
The International division’s sales for the four-week period were $3.155 billion, up 13.3 percent over sales of $2.784 billion in the similar prior-year period.

As of February 28, 2003, the Company had 1,568 Wal-Mart stores, 1,258 Supercenters, 525 SAM’s CLUBS and 49 Neighborhood Markets in the United States. Internationally, the Company operated units in Argentina (11), Brazil (22), Canada (213), China (26), Germany (94), Korea (15), Mexico (597), Puerto Rico (54) and United Kingdom (258).
