VF Corp. will eliminate 52 positions at its Alameda Warranty Center located at 2321 North Loop Road in Alameda, CA.
The closing is part of VF’s move of its corporate headquarters to Denver.
“These layoffs are part of the relocation to Denver. At some point, everyone who is at the facility who is going will be relocated there,” Samantha Wannemacher, a VF spokeswoman told the San Francisco Business Times. “All Alameda employees were given the opportunity to relocate to Denver.”
In October, VF Corp. selected Denver’s lower downtown district for its new global headquarters. The North Face also moved from the San Francisco Bay Area and Smartwool from Steamboat Springs, CO. Altra, JanSport and Eagle Creek have likewise relocated to Denver. Vans is remaining in Southern California and Timberland in New Hampshire.
