As part of its stated goal of bringing top management talent to the company, Veltec Sports announced that industry veteran Shara Christensen has left Specialized to manage Veltec’s growing sales staff for North America. She will report to Veltec Managing Director Josh Greenberg.

“Shara brings seven years’ experience with one of the most successful companies in the industry to Veltec, ” Greenberg said. “She’s a proven performer with the ability to take Veltec partner brands like Sidi, Look, Easton and Shebeest to the next level with our retailers.”

Christensen joins recent VP of Finance recruit and longtime Bell stalwart Shelley Gedek, and fellow Specialized alum Rick Vosper, now VP of Marketing and Brand Management. All three have left major industry posts in the past 90 days to come to Veltec.

Previously inside sales manager for Specialized’s Central USA region, Christensen put her decision to go with Veltec this way: “Bringing the heartland in above goal year after year was a great accomplishment, and one I’m very proud of. But the opportunity to grow top independent brands through all of North America was something I just couldn’t turn down.”

An accomplished century rider, age-group triathlete, marathon runner, adventure racer, and mother of precocious four-year-old daughter Sheridan, Christensen is famous for the almost superhuman energy she brings to everything she does. “That’s good”, laughs Greenberg. “With the plans we have to grow our sales with retailers, she’ll need it.”
