Vail Resorts, Inc. announced the appointment of Mark R. Gasta to the position of senior vice president and chief human resources officer. He will assume responsibility for all facets of human resources leadership and management across the company's operations. Gasta will begin his new position on Feb. 19.
Gasta joins Vail Resorts from Comcast Communications where, for the past seven years, he worked in various human resources capacities including most recently corporate vice president of organizational development for the company's 90,000 employees. He was responsible for planning and executing strategies designed to increase the company's performance through the development of employee talent and empowerment of teams. Prior to that position, Gasta served as divisional vice president of human resources for the western region with responsibility for 15,000 employees.

Prior to Comcast, he was the human resources director for Lexis-Nexis in 1999 and a human resources and development manager for Target Corporation from 1997-1999. From 1988-1997, he served as a commissioned officer and aviator in the United States Army, stationed in the U.S., Germany and Italy.
