Utah's first Governor’s Annual Outdoor Recreation Summit, which is scheduled to take place at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City next month, has sold out with about 400 people registering for the event.

The May 8 summit is being hosted by the Utah Outdoor Recreation Office, under Gov. Gary Herbert's Office of Economic Development. In addition to Gov. Herbert (pictured to the right), Juan Palma of the Bureau of Land Management, Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker and Outdoor Industry Association President & CEO Frank Hugelmeyer are scheduled to speak at the event, which will focus on economic opportunities around Utah's outdoor recreation economy.

The Summit has been planned in conjunction with the outdoor industry, counties, communities, user groups, and state and federal land management agencies.  The focus is simple: explore and share new ways to responsibly grow, promote, and enhance Utah’s flourishing recreation economy.
