USA Triathlon announced a partnership with AfterShokz, the leading manufacturer of bone conduction headphone technology, as the organization’s official headphone.

AfterShokz manufactures open-ear headphones that enable users to hear ambient noise in their surrounding environments — giving athletes the freedom to listen to music without compromising their own safety or the safety of others. The bone conduction technology transmits sound via mini vibrations through the cheekbone to the inner ear, bypassing the eardrums.

“USA Triathlon is proud to align with a company that prioritizes both safety and innovation, and we look forward to introducing AfterShokz’ groundbreaking technology to the wider multisport community,” said Chuck Menke, chief marketing officer at USA Triathlon. “The open-ear design increases users’ situational awareness, helping to keep them safe during training. In addition, athletes can maintain communication with their coaches and training partners while using AfterShokz headphones, providing enhanced flexibility during group workouts.”

“AfterShokz is incredibly excited to partner with USA Triathlon,” said Kimberly Fassetta, CMO of AfterShokz. “Triathletes love using our headphones during training, and we have some exciting products in the pipeline that will enhance their training experience. USA Triathlon is the largest multisport organization in the world, and we look forward to working closely with them and all of their athletes.”

Through the partnership, AfterShokz will provide open-ear listening products for various USA Triathlon promotions, prizes and giveaways, including at the Toyota USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships, the USA Triathlon Youth & Junior National Championships and the inaugural Legacy Triathlon. AfterShokz will also partner with select members of the U.S. Triathlon National Team and Toyota U.S. Paratriathlon National Team.
