According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds for the US were up 10.5% April 2010 compared to April 2009 but still down 3.0% on a YTD basis. Public access play was up 11.6% for the month and private course activity was up 6.9%. 

A total of 3850 courses were represented in the report.

By region, the biggest gains were seen in West North Central, 29.6%; East North Central, 28.9%; Mid-Atlantic, 15.5%; South Central, 9.5%; and New England, 8.9%. Increasing more modestly were Mountain, 2.5%; and South Atlantic, 5.5%. The one region showing a decline was Pacific, down 7.9%.
