The Board of Directors of the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers announced it is re-launching the search for a new association President due to the “regrettable and unexpected” resignation of Mark Kresser.

In a statement issued earliier this week, Kresser cited “unforeseen family and personal matters” that he felt would inhibit his ability to fully carry out duties as President of the NASGW. “I have enjoyed working with the NASGW’s fine staff of professionals and colleagues and wish the NASGW continued success in all its endeavors,” said Kresser, who was appointed to the position January 1st.

NASGW Chairman Michael Brown said he expects the renewed nationwide search to move forward fairly quickly and the transition to go smoothly. “On behalf of the Board and NASGW’s entire membership we are saddened by the necessity of such a decision and certainly offer Mark and his family our best wishes” he added.

The new search will be handled on behalf of NASGW by McCarthy HR Consulting, LLC.
