Under Armour and the Montreal Canadiens have once again teamed up to give Bantam Hockey teams the chance to play at the Bell Centre, home of the Canadiens.
The Quebec wide competition lets youth teams compete in a number of online and social media challenges before two teams are chosen to “Be The Habs” for a day and play a game at the Bell Centre.
New this year, teams will not only need to showcase their skills, but also prove through online and social media content why they are the strongest, most determined and motivated team in Montreal . Over the course of the seven-week competition, Bantam hockey teams will submit highlight videos that showcase why they deserve to Storm The Centre.
“Since our first Storm The Centre competition in Montreal , we have seen teams of determined, young, hockey players who amaze us with their hustle and determination,” says Jon Irwin , senior director, commercial strategy, Under Armour Canada. “This is a great opportunity for Bantam hockey teams to strengthen their skills on and off the ice to earn their spot and play at the Bell Centre.”
Registration on Canadiens.com/stormthecentre is now open for the competition. Teams have 7 weeks to upload content to chapters on the website to tell their team’s story. Throughout the competition, teams will be asked to submit photo and video content such as players doing trick shots, pre-game rituals and goal celebrations. The more content that teams put in each chapter, the better chance the team has at winning. The top two teams who tell their team story best will be rewarded with a spot at The Armour Cup, their chance to live like the pros and “Be the Habs” for a day. This will be a full day of training and professional treatment capped off with a game at the Bell Centre. Rules and Regulations for the competition can be found here.
The Storm The Centre competition is also running in Toronto and for the first time in Edmonton .
