Under Armour has signed Ray Lewis, the Baltimore Ravens linebacker, to
an endorsement deal, becoming the company's most visible star.

Steve Battista, Under Armour's vice president of brand marketing, told SOS
that while Lewis, 32, has worn Under Armour apparel for years, the
company now has an official contract with him. Lewis, whose
previous endorser had been Reebok, will be wearing Under Armour cleats
and gloves as well.

As part of the multi-year contract, the perennial NFL All-Pro began
wearing Under Armour’s cleats in the Ravens’ nationally televised
opening night game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Terms of the
contract weren't disclosed.

Under Armour's roster of NFL players includes Vernon Davis, a San
Francisco 49ers tight end; A.J. Hawk, a Green Bay Packers linebacker;
Joe Thomas, a tackle for the Cleveland Browns; and Patrick Willis, a
linebacker for the 49ers. Lewis is clearly its biggest star.

“Ray's a performance guy, which matches our brand, and he brings a lot
to a team on and off the field as well,” Battista told the Baltimore Business Journal.

Under Armour also provides uniforms to the University of Maryland,
Auburn University, Texas Tech University and the University of South
Carolina.
