USPA Global Licensing Inc. (USPAGL), the official licensing arm and national broadcaster of the United States Polo Association (USPA), announced that U.S. Polo Assn. will be the official apparel outfitter for the high-profile St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship.
Held Dec. 18-20 in Aspen, the three-day event offers sports fans and consumers the unique opportunity to enjoy snow polo along with festive activities such as cocktail parties, influencer events and charity fundraisers.
This year, U.S. Polo Assn. returns as both a sponsor and the reigning champion of the tournament from last year’s win led by Grant Ganzi and Nic Roldan. Ganzi has been a member of Team USPA and played on multiple high-goal polo teams, while Roldan is recognized as one of the sport’s top American players. Other high-profile players participating in the event will be Pablo MacDonough, Gonzalito Pieres, Alejandro Novillo Astrada and Nacho Figures. Snow polo is a modified version of traditional polo, involving three players as opposed to four on a snow-packed field and utilizing a bigger polo ball that is brightly colored, so it can be seen against the snow.
“The St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship is a one of a kind opportunity in the United States, drawing both high-profile players and fans from around the world to Aspen to enjoy snow polo with a breathtaking backdrop,” said J. Michael Prince, President & CEO of USPAGL. “We are honored to partner with St. Regis, the Ganzi Family as well as our North American licensing partners at Jordache as U.S. Polo Assn. defends last year’s title.”
“Jordache is thrilled to outfit the players in our U.S. Polo Assn. performance jerseys as well as sponsor the U.S. Polo Assn. team in the highly-anticipated St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship, the exclusive major snow polo event in North America. Partnering U.S. Polo Assn. with the sport is important to the brand’s authenticity and allows us to showcase this truly unique connection to athletes, fans and consumers in one of the world’s greatest polo venues,” stated Steven Nakash, Executive of Jordache.
The star-studded St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship is one of the most high-profile polo events in the world as well as one of Aspen’s major international sporting occasions. The competition will take place at Aspen Valley Polo Club and Rio Grande Park and is the only major snow polo event in North America, with other venues including St. Mortiz, Switzerland, Cortina, Italy and Courchevel, France.
