TYR Sport plans to support The Mac Crutchfield Foundation and all of its initiatives to develop pro-swimming programs and promote health, fun and safety in the water.
Established in 2009 to honor the life and passion of twelve-year-old Mac Crutchfield, The Mac Crutchfield Foundation is dedicated to keeping Mac’s love for the water alive by inspiring everyone to swim. On April 14, 2018, TYR Sport will work in conjunction with team TYR athlete Ryan Lochte to support the 10th Annual Mac Crutchfield Dinner and Auction, hosted by Windermere Laker Aquatics in Windermere, FL.
In addition to swim clinics with some of the world’s top athletes, a portion of the evening will be dedicated to silent and live auctions of swimming memorabilia. All auction funds will go directly to drowning prevention programs and events, as well as the Special Olympics.
“We are truly in awe of the love and support we have received from the TYR Family, and we are proud to call them a part of ours,” said Mac Crutchfield Foundation Founder Maggie Crutchfield. “The impact we are going to have on drowning prevention and helping individuals to develop a love for the water is expanding beyond the state of Florida, and we thank TYR Sport for their part in that.”
Alex Dehner, head coach of Windermere Laker Aquatics and a former friend of Mac’s, shared in the sentiment stating, “It’s an honor to know that by hosting this event we can help support drowning prevention awareness and the Special Olympics, all the while teaching kids about my friend and his love for swimming. We’re excited to be working with TYR to bring Mac’s passions to life.”
