Wendy Miller has joined Tubbs Snowshoes as the company's new events manager. Her responsibilities will include the planning and coordination of the Tubbs Romp to Stomp Series, the company’s successful breast cancer fund-raising event series.

Now in its eighth year, the Romp Series features a 3 km snowshoe fun run, and a 3 km or 5 km easy snowshoe walk, and showcases the 'pink ribbon' Wilderness Series snowshoes designed specifically for women. Tubbs donates $5 per pair sold to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® along with all pledges and proceeds raised from the Romp Series. Last year this event series, together with the on-product donation program, enabled Tubbs to contribute over $254,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  For the upcoming 0809 season, the Romp Series will maintain its national schedule of events kicking off in January 09.

Miller will also be in charge of coordinating activities for Winter Trails, a national event on January 10, 2009, focusing on introducing newcomers to the fun, healthy benefits of getting outside in the winter on snowshoes and cross country skis. Her additional duties will include planning regional snowshoeing events; working to maintain the strong functional relationship between the company and its resort partners and specialty retailers.

Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Washington University. Her past work experience includes serving as an Outreach Specialist at REI’s Seattle flagship store in Washington in addition to retail sales experience in the specialty outdoor retail channel.

“We are delighted to welcome Wendy to our marketing team,” said Charles Lozner, Brand Director for the K2 Outdoor group. “Over the next year it's our goal to focus on increasing and expanding our roster of events that showcase our activities and expose our diverse product lines.  Wendy’s contributions will help us generate more exposure for our brands and our partners,” said Lozner.
