Tubbs Snowshoes and the Salt Lake City Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation held their third annual Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series at Mountain Dell Golf Course.

The annual event consists of both a snowshoe fun run as well as an easy snowshoe walk, and raises money from the participants’ pledges as well as direct donations. All the money raised through the event will be given to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and its local Affiliates, to benefit breast cancer research, education and screening.

The event had an impressive turnout of more than 220 participants.

“It’s so encouraging to see all of these people turn out to support such a great cause,” said Paul Adams, Marketing Program Coordinator for Tubbs. “All of the participants enjoyed a great day and to see them having fun while snowshoeing is the icing on the cake,” said Adams.

Winners of the Fun Run were Mark Clay of Salt Lake City, who won the 3K Race in the male division with a time of 12:28 and Kimber Anton also of Salt Lake City, won in the women’s division with a time of 22:26.

“Women are getting the message about snowshoeing and all of it’s fitness, social, and spiritual benefits. It’s great that we have such a great forum to highlight our sport and make a difference for a cause that is so near and dear to too many of us”, said Kathy Murphy, General Manager for Tubbs..

Tubbs would like to express their thanks to our national sponsors Columbia Sportswear and Green Mountain Coffee, as well as local sponsors Dan’s Foods, Einstein’s Bagels, Sports-Am.
