Tournament Sports Marketing Inc. has acquired the Nancy Lopez Golf (NLG) brand from Women’s Unlimited Golf. TSM, based in Waterloo, Canada, has been the Canadian licensee for NLG since its inception in 1999. NLG is one of Canada’s leading brands in women’s golf equipment and apparel.

“Our direction in Canada has been dramatically different than the U.S. in terms of both product offering and marketing strategy,” noted Kim Bauer, President of Tournament Sports. “Based on the success of the brand in Canada, we are confident that we can implement a similar strategy and grow the NLG brand globally.”

TSM markets Antigua, Etonic, Bridgestone and Tour Edge, in addition to Nancy Lopez Golf. This is the company’s first golf venture outside of Canada. However, Tournament Sports has operated its successful U.S. skate subsidiary since 1992 and also has distribution in 18 countries worldwide. “We have learned some important lessons in terms of logistics and customer support in skates that will serve us well in the Lopez initiative,” stated Bauer.

“I’m delighted with the change in ownership and I look forward to working with Kim and his team in re- introducing the Nancy Lopez Golf brand in the U.S. market,” commented Nancy Lopez. “I had the opportunity to witness first hand their success in the Canadian market and am very excited.”
