The trend of fitness-matching apps hasn’t lost steam yet. LuvByrd launched its version of Tinder-meets-active-lifestyle compatibility matching in a new tool that helps “adventurous” singles across the country find a mate with similar outdoor interests.

“This launch is huge for us,” said LuvByrd Founder and CEO Mike Keshian. “Users in Colorado have been connecting online and creating lasting relationships based on the outdoor interests they enjoy most and we’re excited for singles across the country to start experiencing LuvByrd as well.”

Running as both a website and app on iPhone and Android, LuvByrd enables users to browse possible matches and communicate with those matches. The simple format focuses on helping singles make connections and begin getting to know each other in their most comfortable environments – mountains, lakes, beaches and trails.

LuvByrd will also brings people together through active outdoor events, such as “Chairlift Speed Dating” and an upcoming summer rafting trip.  As the user base grows, LuvByrd will expand the calendar of regional events, encouraging “outdoor true love” in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, New York and Chicago.

While signing up for LuvByrd is free, there are features available for purchase.

Earlier in July, an app called Playground Health was launched to promote social fitness meet-ups, while another called SWEATT matches users based on fitness regiment and wellness preferences.

A next step in the development of active lifestyle compatibility matching may include retailers signing on with developers and tech companies to make their shops recommended date spots, where matches can ogle new products that suit their preferred endeavors.
