After years of managing its own retail training program – Trek University, online and in live seminars – Trek has partnered with Sparc to create a more streamlined and accessible training platform for Trek retailers and their staff.

Trek kicked off the new platform for North American retailers in April to record participation numbers that have surpassed the anticipated enrollment. Trek’s re-dedication to swifter and more effective retail staff training stems from the growing product lines and technologies from both the Trek and Bontrager brands, and the increasing frequency at which they are being introduced. With many of Trek retailers staff already receiving product training through Sparc’s online platform, connecting Trek and Bontrager’s lessons and incentives to those who will benefit most has been easier to manage while providing a better overall experience.

“We looked at a number of ways to create greater value for our retailers and increase the ease of use and accessibility of Trek University,” said Trek Retail Marketing Manager Jeremy McKinley. “With so many of our retailers already getting their training through Sparc, we knew that the new Trek U would hit the ground running. The response has been fantastic, with thousands of retailers taking advantage of the tools.”

“I have never been so stoked to be a newbie,” said John Walker of Jax Bicycles in Fullerton, CA. “It’s a great incentive program with tools to better familiarize staff with the product. Im looking forward to finally having a shot at calling myself a bike-selling Ninja. The Trek team has done an awesome job revamping it.”

Trek will be updating the training modules and incentives frequently to keep up with the steady stream of innovative product coming from the Waterloo, Wisconsin company. Trek retailers overseas will experience the new Trek University later this summer. With faster publishing a hallmark of the new Trek U, Trek retailers will have better prepared employees ready to conquer the sales floor during the busiest season of the year.
