TravelChair has chosen Red Pine Outdoor to distribute its camping furniture in Canada.
Red Pine Outdoor Equipment, which distributes to more than 500 retailers across Canada, will begin distributing TravelChair's bestselling SKUs and two new patent-pending models as soon as its first shipment arrive later this year.
The deal came together at Outdoor Retailer, when TravelChair Vice President of Sales and Marketing Daniel Roso and Bob Bowins of Red Pine shared a can of Olympia Beer and started talking shop.
“The show had been closed for half an hour when Bob and one of his retailers stopped by and sat in our new Joey Chair (seen at right) that we just launched that week at OR,” Roso recalled. “We shared our business values and in the weeks since, they've been great to work with. We're looking forward to a long relationship.”
The addition of a high-powered Canadian distributor adds momentum to TravelChair's record-breaking pre-season sales. The introduction of two new products at Outdoor Retailer – the lightweight Joey Chair and SleepRite Cot – have fueled sales growth that is more than double the previous year's.
“There's obvious enthusiasm for the quality, features and price points of the new products,” Roso said. “Retailers see that we're providing a great value and a great product for their customers.”
There's optimism that the company's innovative products and reputation for quality earned over 30 years in business will resonate with Canadian retailers as well.
“Our retailers appreciate lightweight, durable products that are of interest to their adventurous, outdoor loving clientele,” Bowins said. “TravelChair products fit into this niche perfectly.”
Red Pine Outdoor Equipment will begin stocking TravelChair products online immediately.
