Tommy Armour Golf Company, a subsidiary of Huffy Corporation, announced that Mark Adams, a Professional Clubmakers’ Society (PCS) Certified Class A Clubmaker, has been hired as Manager, Custom Golf Club Operations. Among his duties, Adams will be responsible for all Tommy Armour Golf, Ram and TearDrop clubmaking, warranty and repair operations, as well as the Company’s expansive club fitting program.

Adams, an expert in all aspects of clubmaking, clubfitting and club repair, has worked with nearly every major golf club manufacturer and is regarded as one of the golf industry’s premier clubmakers. In fact, he is one of a select group of professional clubmakers to pass the PCS’ accreditation test with a score of 98% or higher. Among his industry credits, Adams was the first clubmaker to design and use air to install grips, providing a more efficient turn-around time, with no use of chemicals.

“Mark Adams is one of the industry’s top clubmakers and club fitters, and there is no one better suited to direct our golf club operations and oversee the storied 845 equipment franchise, than Mark Adams,” said John Collins, President, Tommy Armour Golf Company. “Mark’s expertise allows us to establish a custom club division that will offer the finest craftsmanship and service in golf, and which is backed by the widely respected accreditation of the Professional Clubmakers Society.”

In addition to his experience in the OEM sector, Adams spent ten years working with Canada’s Golfer of the Century, Gary Cowan, custom building and fitting all of his golf clubs. Adams has also worked extensively with more than 40 tour players from the PGA, Senior PGA, Canadian and Buy.Com Tours, respectively.
