Seven-time NFL Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady has officially entered the sports collectibles market, acquiring a 50 percent stake in CardVault, the sports card and memorabilia retailer.

As part of the agreement, CardVault will now be called CardVault by Tom Brady and expand its retail footprint with a new flagship store opening this spring at American Dream, the large retail and entertainment complex in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, NJ. American Dream is also the second largest mall in the U.S. behind the Mall of America.

With marquee locations in Boston’s TD Garden, Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium and Foxwoods Resort Casino, CardVault noted in a media release that the “company is the premier destination for sports cards, graded collectibles and memorabilia and offers an elevated retail approach, featuring immersive store designs, authentication services and an exclusive VIP trading experience.

With Brady’s backing, CardVault said it is “poised to go global, with new stores planned across the U.S. and in major international markets.”

“Sports collectibles and cards have been part of my DNA since childhood, and CardVault has set the gold standard for what a modern fan experience should be,” said Brady. “This isn’t just about buying and selling cards; it’s about curating history, building community, turning fans into collectors, and giving them access to own great moments in sports.”

Brady’s trading cards have broken trading records during his career, with some of his rarest cards selling for millions. As he transitions into new business ventures post-NFL play, investing in a category with global demand and a loyal collector base is a strategic choice for Brady.

Beyond the in-store experience , CardVault is also expanding digitally, creating exclusive content and hosting live-stream box breaks — a form of on-demand shopping for sports cards and collectibles. With Brady at the helm, the company intends to  leverage his global fan base to engage new collectors, investors and sports enthusiasts.

“The intersection of sports, culture and collectibles has never been more relevant. Tom Brady is bringing his lifelong passion for card collecting, business acumen, brand power, and relentless pursuit of excellence to CardVault. Together, we are ready to build something truly game-changing,” said CardVault Co-Founder Ed Kane.
