Tissot, the Official Watch of the NBA, has signed partnership deals with the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards.
The Bulls and Wizards join existing partnerships with six other NBA teams as the Official Watch of each of these franchises.
The Swiss traditional watchmaker in terms of volume and a member of the Swatch Group also announced its partnership with three-time NBA Champion and four-time NBA All-Star Klay Thompson, top rookie Trae Young and a continued relationship with long-time brand ambassador and four-time NBA Champion and six-time NBA All-Star Tony Parker. These athletes will appear in multimedia global campaigns for the brand, support dedicated fan content and engagement and make appearances for the brand at special events throughout the season.
“Tissot is a brand that embodies both performance and reliability, which are two critical parts of my game on and off the court,” said Thompson. “I am excited to partner with Tissot this season and to share my own style with fans.”
“We are so proud to welcome these teams and athletes into our sports family,” added François Thiébaud, president of Tissot. “Our partnership with the NBA has been very successful for us since its inception in 2015, helping to increase our brand awareness amongst NBA fans in the U.S., and we know these new alliances will continue to raise Tissot’s profile around the world.”
In addition to the new team partnership deals, which will showcase Tissot as part of team marketing plans, in-arena creative and digital support, Tissot will continue to be the leading presenter of all NBA Buzzer Beaters, designated when a player sinks a winning basket with 0.00 seconds left on the Tissot Shot Clock. Showcased on NBA social media channels, the program highlights Tissot’s painstakingly accurate timekeeping.
New this year, Tissot and the NBA will offer fans exclusive benefits throughout the season via NBA social media channels and on NBAstore.com.
As part of its NBA partnership, Tissot worked with the league to introduce state-of-the-art shot clocks and integrated timing systems in all 29 NBA arenas, a first in league history and ensure consistent timekeeping in each second of NBA game play. Tissot activates its partnership at major NBA milestones and throughout the year, engaging with fans at NBA All-Star NBA Draft presented by State Farm, at retail locations, on NBA broadcast partners, on digital and social media and with each of its partner teams during the season. The brand also offers NBA and team timepieces available at us.tissotshop.com and at retailers across the country.
