Timex has re-signed Olympic marathoner Jared Ward as a brand ambassador for its Ironman sports watches.
Ward will be contributing significantly to Timex’s content development for its social and digital platforms, highlighting the benefits of the watches and their affordability. Additionally, he will be representing Timex at all of his events this year, including the upcoming Boston Marathon on April 17. Fans will get a chance to meet with Ward at the Timex booth at the Boston Marathon Expo on Saturday, April 15th at 11:00AM.
Ward, 28, was the winner of the 2015 USATF Road Circuit race, the 2015 USA Marathon Championships, and placed third in the Olympic Marathon trials in February of last year, qualifying him for the USA Olympic team. He was awarded Road Runner’s “Runner of the Year” award in 2016. Additionally, he achieved a personal record of completing a full marathon in 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 30 seconds with the help of his $35 Ironman sports watch.
“Jared is a perfect fit for our brand, and we’re very excited to once again have him join us as an ambassador,” said Senior Global Brand Manager of Sport & Advanced Concepts Keith Meyer. “Running is a numbers game. Jared’s background in statistics, and the Timex Ironman watches’ intuitive core technology, helped him to establish his impressive record. We’re really looking forward to showcasing how to best enhance your run.”
“I am thrilled to again partner with Timex,” said Ward. “My Timex Ironman watch has been an integral part of my running since high school, and gave me the feedback I needed in Rio last summer. I am grateful to be a part of the Timex family and I look forward to being an ambassador for a brand that produces quality I can proudly stand behind.”
