Times-7 Sport, a New Zealand-based company providing sport timing solutions, announced that Skip Gilbert will become president/chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Times-7 Sport, Gilbert was CEO of USA Triathlon (USAT).

Opening its U.S. head office in Colorado Springs, CO, Gilbert will lead the company's expansion into Canada, Mexico, South America, the Caribbean and the United States.

“We're thrilled to have Skip Gilbert lead our Times-7 Sport team,” said Times-7 Sport Chairman, D'Arcy Quinn. 'Skip's 25-year sales, marketing and managerial background and his successful track record with major sport organizations will jump-start our efforts to expand throughout the Americas. We look forward to him building upon our already strong brand.”

“I'm excited to join Times-7 Sport, a company which is expanding its high-quality product portfolio and is directed by a strong leadership team.” Gilbert said. “This is clearly an organization on the rise, both in the Americas and around the world. I look forward to helping them expand into one of the most sport participation-rich regions in the world.”

When he joined USAT in early 2005, Gilbert began guiding the governing body through one of its most explosive periods of growth in its 28-year history.  USAT under his leadership grew membership from 50,000 to 139,000, increased the organizational budget from $5.6m to $11.1m, elevated their investment account by over $5m, and developed a dedicated, professional staff to handle its growth.

While at USAT, Gilbert was elected Chairman of the NGB Council, comprised of CEO's and volunteer Presidents representing the interests of the 47 sport governing bodies within the Olympic Family.   He was also elected Chairman of the Association of the Chief Executives of Sport, a membership trade group representing 50 National Governing Body CEO's in and outside of the Olympic Movement.

Prior to USAT, Gilbert worked in various sales, marketing and managerial roles for USA Swimming, US Soccer, the Arena Football League as well as with sport publications such as the Sporting News, Tennis and Outside magazines.  A graduate of the University of Vermont, Gilbert was a two-time first team Division One All-America selection in soccer and played for the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL.  Gilbert, his wife Jenifer and their three children will reside in Colorado Springs, CO.
