Timbuk2 has partnered with Primer-Uniglobe Singapore, a member of the Primer Group of Companies, to open a retail store in Singapore, debuting their first in-store customization experience outside of the U.S.
Beginning Oct. 31, 2013, the new 280 sq. ft. retail store is located in Singapore at Bugis Junction, Unit 03-26A. The space showcases 75 percent of its product line of more than 100 styles of bags and accessories and most notably, an interactive custom station where customers can design a one-of-a-kind bag or accessory made to order in the Timbuk2 San Francisco factory. The in-store custom bag builder in Singapore is a first step to offer this unique service in cities across Asia.
“Timbuk2 pioneered the concept of built-to-order custom messenger bags, and we’re excited to launch our first international in-store customization experience in Singapore,” said Timbuk2 CEO Mike Wallenfels. “As we continue expanding our presence overseas, customization will remain a central facet of the Timbuk2 experience.”
The store design has been influenced by Timbuk2’s bike heritage, including a Custom Bag Builder experience identical to those found in Timbuk2’s U.S. stores. The Custom Bag Builder area features a computer touch screen customization experience, swatches of fabrics and samples of bag styles for customers to use as inspiration as they build their own bags. Once a custom bag order is placed, it will be sewn at Timbuk2’s factory in San Francisco, Calif. and can be in the Singaporean customer’s hands in as short as two weeks.

Timbuk2’s first flagship store opened in San Francisco in Hayes Valley in 2006. Timbuk2 opened its second U.S. store in Seattle in May 2013.
The Timbuk2 Singapore store is located at 200 Victoria Street, Bugis Junction, Unit 03-26A. Starting Thursday, Oct. 31, Timbuk2 is open from 10am to 10pm daily.
