The Timberland Company has launched a nationwide tour stopping at 78 of the country's biggest outdoor events
and adventure races. The tour kicks off this weekend with participation in events in California, Oregon, Illinois and the renowned Leadville Trail 100 Series in Colorado. The coast-to-coast tour will continue through early-October, with hallmark events such as the Breckenridge Crest Mountain Marathon, Crater Lake Rim Runs, Deerfield River Festival, Pacific Coast Triathlon and Pedro's Fest.
At each event, participants and spectators will have a chance to get up
close
and personal with the people and technologies invloved with Timberland products. In addition to viewing the
latest
innovations from Timberland through a branded vehicle and booth area,
consumers
will have the opportunity to wear test Timberland's proprietary Agile IQ
technology platform through various activities. Timberland athletes
will also
be competing in many events.
Timberland will have information on hand about its partnership with Big
City
Mountaineers, key environmental initiatives, and how people can get
involved in
service in their own communities.
According to Timberland, the tour is part of a comprehensive strategy to reach outdoor
enthusiasts where
they are most passionate – in the outdoors. The “Summit to Sea” program
reaches
these coveted consumers through networks of local affiliates,
partnerships with
elite athletes like mountaineer Ed Viesturs, and high-profile outdoor
events
across the U.S. The program also provides an opportunity for Timberland
to
demonstrate its commitment to key retail partners, particularly sport
specialty
retailers in key outdoor markets.
“Timberland is committed to making the very best in outdoor footwear and
apparel, and helping to make the outdoors accessible to outdoor
enthusiasts of
all levels,” said Mac Tillman, category manager, Timberland Outdoor
Performance.
“The Summit to Sea program allows us to interact with and learn from
people
who, like us, have the outdoors flowing through their veins. Whether
it's a
mountaineering icon, a weekend racer or a knowledgeable retailer, we
gain
incredible insight by engaging in an ongoing dialogue about our shared
passions.”
