Tilley Endurables, the Toronto-based maker of hats and travel clothing, has donated more than  $155,000 to Street Kids International, a global non-profit organization that helps street kids learn to support themselves and make healthy, educated decisions that positively impact their lives.

Since 2004, Tilley has been contributing portions of sales from their Hemp Hat collection to the organization to help their projects worldwide. Street Kids International has worked in over 60 countries with over 300,000 street youth to create opportunities for vulnerable kids to start small businesses and prepare for entry-level jobs.

After visiting one of the organization’s projects in Ecuador, Alex Tilley, the founder of Tilley Endurables, was inspired by the organization’s work and its commitment to helping kids around the world.

“Street Kids International provides the kids with tools to assist, the independence to thrive and to succeed or fail on their own initiative,” says Alex Tilley, founder of Tilley Endurables. “This is the dignity that a simple handout would not provide. The ability to support the next generation of ambitious future-business-owners is an incredible opportunity and we look forward to seeing how the future unfolds for these individuals. And quite simply, they need our help to continue. It’s incredible to think that a simple Hat has been able to touch so many lives from around the world.”

By buying a simple, functional hat, Tilley’s customers have been able to positively impact the lives of at-risk children throughout the world, and the company could not be more proud to be supporting an organization that continues to help create better futures for thousands of young people. Tilley will continue to support the organization through the sales of their Hemp Hat and is looking forward to their future efforts and projects to help improve the lives of children around the world.
