The North Face, a division of VF Corporation, added three ultramarathon athletes, Clare Gallagher, Paddy O’Leary and Cody Reed, to its performance team. The three competed on December 3 at The North Face Endurance Challenge Series Championship in San Francisco, CA. The Challenge hosted more than 4,500 athletes.
“Each of these talented athletes brings something unique to The North Face Athlete team. We are excited to support them as they pursue their individual goals and push the limits of this fast-growing sport of endurance running,” said The North Face Director of Sports Marketing Katie Ramage.
- Clare Gallagher (far left) – In her first 100-mile race, not only did Gallagher win the Leadville 100 run this year, she also set the second-fastest women’s time ever with 19 hours, 0 minutes, 27 seconds. After four years of collegiate cross-country and track at Princeton University, she is hitting the trails hard in 2017. In the offseason, Gallagher’s winter running recovery remedy is ski-mountaineering.
- Paddy O’Leary (middle) – O’Leary joins The North Face from the brand’s partner, The November Project, where he serves as the San Francisco Tribe Leader. Coming from a lacrosse background where he played for the University College in Dublin, O’Leary hit the trail scene hard in 2015, competing in the Tamalpa Headlands 50K, The North Face Endurance Challenge San Francisco and placing third in the Way Too Cool 50K in 2016.
- Cody Reed (far right) – Being a San Francisco Bay Area native, Reed has mastered the Northern California trails with wins in the Ultra Race of Champions 100k, Miwok 100K and Tamalpa Headlands 50K in 2016.
