The North Face announced the appointment of Steve Lesnard as global vice president of marketing, and Tina Rolén as vice president of marketing for The North Face EMEA.
“Steve and Tina bring deep industry knowledge and experience driving marketing innovation for strategic business growth at a global scale,” said Arne Arens, global brand president, The North Face. “As we continue to focus on global growth, I know Steve and Tina’s expansive industry expertise will help accelerate our own business and elevate our world-class, global marketing efforts to strengthen connections with consumers.”
Lesnard comes to The North Face with more than 20 years of experience driving high-profile business growth and leading global brand campaigns, revolutionary product launches, and strategic partnerships across sports, technology and lifestyle. Most recently, Lesnard served as Global Vice President and General Manager for the Nike Running business where he ran global product launches such as Vapormax, Nike React and Breaking 2. Under his leadership, Nike’s Running business led the company’s innovation and growth agenda. Among his accomplishments, Lesnard lead two global Olympics campaigns and launched the first women-focused running initiative, expanding on Nike’s sports DNA to connect with consumers across 30 countries.
Rolén brings a wealth of experience from previous roles at Adidas, where she spent ten years working across the business, and premium Swedish outdoor brand, Haglöfs, as global marketing director. She joins The North Face from fellow VF Corporation brand, Vans, where she has been working as the vice president of marketing for Vans EMEA since September 2018.
Lesnard and Rolén join at an exciting time for The North Face with the brand set to launch its groundbreaking FUTURELIGHT technology later this year, in addition to focused sustainability projects such as the Explore Fund being announced in Europe. The Explore Fund was created by The North Face to protect wild places and build communities, connecting people to the benefits of outdoor exploration and empowering individuals to be environmental stewards.
