David Stone, husband, devoted father, alpinist, backcountry skier, road biker, accomplished guitarist, and master of the dreaded British one-liner passed away Sept 23rd after a hard fought battle with stomach cancer. He is survived by his wife Lin, daughters Molly, Scarlett Rose and sister Francis. A private family service will be held shortly followed by a Celebration of his life for friends at a later date this fall. The family would really appreciate cards and letters – particularly those with any stories or photos of David you would like to share.
David spent over 20 years in the Outdoor Industry, holding positions with International Mtn. Equipment, Climb High, and for the last 10 years as Marketing Manager for Peregrine Outfitters. He gathered a large and varied group of friends, drawn by his grace and remarkable sense of humor. David brought expertise, humor, and artist's flair to everything he did. He was a fixture at every OR show with a near legendary capacity for parties and free gear.

As his good friend Tom McCarthy said: The next time you take a ride, do a climb or hoist a pint of your favorite English ale while listening to the Blues he was so fond of, remember our friend David and what he brought to our lives. We'll miss him.
