F45 Training Holdings, Inc., the global fitness franchise, will open the doors of the company’s first on-base FS8 Studio on Friday, August 23, at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) in Miramar, CA. The new studio will join the company’s existing on-base F45 Training studio and offer military members and their families stationed at MCAS access to FS8’s low-impact training program, which combines Pilates, tone, and yoga.
“We understand how vital it is for the men and women of the Armed Forces to maintain their physical and mental well-being to do what they do best, and we are honored to provide those that call MCAS home with convenient access to our best-in-class fitness programming,” said Michael Nichols, director of military operations for F45 Training. “With the opening of this new studio, MCAS residents can seamlessly balance the functional and high-intensity interval training available at F45 with the low-impact Pilates-based training of FS8, providing a holistic approach to fitness.”
The opening of this first on-base FS8 studio marks F45 Training’s commitment to the military community, as also seen with the F45 SkillBridge Fitness Internship, a Department of Defense-approved Training Program. Designed to leverage the leadership and discipline inherent in military training, F45 SkillBridge assists with transitional readiness for active-duty men and women transitioning out of the military. The F45 SkillBridge Program has reportedly “trained over 1,000 service members since its inception, with many successfully moving into permanent roles ranging from trainers and studio managers to franchise owners within the F45 Training network.”
“At the F45 Group, we are honored to be able to support the members of our Armed Forces,” said Tom Dowd, CEO of F45 Training. “In addition to providing science-backed fitness programming to members of the military, we are committed to helping them transition to civilian life when they complete their service with programs like SkillBridge and the Veterans Impact Program 45 (VIP45), which aims to empower veterans with exclusive benefits to transition from military life to franchise ownership, including providing a 50 percent off the standard franchise fee.”
FS8 – F45’s newly launched Pilates brand, originating from Australia, combines the Pilates reformer with mat work, tone exercises and a yoga warm-up and cool-down for a low-impact, high-energy exercise approach. “FS” stands for Functional style. The “8” refers to the number of scientific elements supporting strength, cardio, mobility, posture, coordination, resistance, mental health, balance, and flexibility.
