The Conservation Alliance membership re-elected Adam Forest, Managing Partner at The Forest Group, and Sally McCoy, CEO of CamelBak, to new two-year terms on the Alliance board of directors. The membership also elected Steve Barker, President of Eagle Creek, to fill a vacant seat.
Incumbents Forest and McCoy serve as President and Vice President respectively. Their re-election provides continuity in board leadership as the Alliance strives to grow in a tricky economic climate. Barker, who served on the board from 1991-1995, returns after a hiatus during which he played a leadership role in the Outdoor Industry Association.
“This election brings us both continuity and change,” said John Sterling, Conservation Alliance Executive Director. “We will benefit from Adam and Sallys renewed terms, and from Steves return to the board.”
The vacant seat was created when Columbia Sportswears Kirk Richardson chose not to seek re-election after serving eight years on the board. During his tenure, Richardson represented Nike, KEEN, and finally Columbia.
“The Conservation Alliance is a stronger organization because of Kirks commitment and energy,” said Sterling. “Well miss him, and hope he has more time to spend exploring the wild places he helped to protect.”
The new two-year board terms begin immediately after the July 20th board meeting.
