SCOTT USA has hired Terry Duran to the company’s bike group. Terry will be the sales manager for the Southeastern region. With 18 years of racing experience from track and category 2 racing to semi-pro Cross Country mountain biking, Terry’s passion has always revolved around bicycles. With another six years of sales experience formally with Cannondale, and most recently Pearlizumi, Terry has excellent experience selling and building premium brand distribution.

Terry said, “I feel that the timing could not be better for the Scott line in the US. I believe the market has a certain degree of saturation with the big-three brands, and consumers are starving for differentiation. No one likes to show up on a group ride where there are a number of bikes identical to theirs.” He went on to say, “I have already begun to hear the excitement about Scott at events and have heard dealers mention they wanted to pick up the line as soon as I start.”

Scott Montgomery stated, “I was very disappointed when Terry left my previous employer for Pearlizumi. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when he called and said he really missed selling high-performance bicycles. Terry is a natural salesman, a strong athlete and a good father, so working together again is a great privilege.”

Terry formally begins with Scott USA June 21, 2004. This week, he and Scott Montgomery are visiting key interested retailers in the Atlanta, Georgia, area. Then he will head off to Switzerland with other sales personnel to review the ’05 product line and complete finishing touches to the ’05 product and pricing strategy.
