5 years after the creation of its production subsidiary for tennis balls in Thailand, Tecnifibre keeps on growing with a new partnership with BRIDGESTONE. The goal of this partnership is to increase the capacity and technical expertise of this tennis ball factory in order to raise it as “the global leader for quality production.”

This partnership will be made with the acquisition of 50 % interest in the capital of the new company, renamed BRIDGESTONE-Tecnifibre. This will enable the factory to double its production capacity within 2 years to reach 2 million dozen balls.

Bridgestone, world leader for tires and one of the main leaders in Japan for golf and tennis equipment, brings to this partnership its unique expertise of technologies for tires and sporting goods. Armed with successes in top level competition and 20 years after having revolutionised the string market, Tecnifibre’s ambition is now to become the highest quality tennis ball supplier for the most demanding players.

The new company will enable Thierry Maissant, who remains the Managing Director, to set up Tecnifibre on a long-term basis as the key player on the world stage; “Quality research has always been an obsession for Tecnifibre. Knowing the passion for excellence from our Japanese partners, I am convinced that our brand name will soon become the reference in the tennis ball business. The drive to get volume is unavoidable and the market leaders have all relocated their production facilities. That is why we are determined to remain competitive on prices but without sacrificing quality. On the contrary, the BRIDGESTONE / Tecnifibre partnership will enable us to improve quality to the highest level”, says Thierry Maissant.
