Team USA signed a long-term agreement licensing Fanatics, Inc. to manufacture and sell Olympic-branded merchandise for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, CA.
The agreement with LA28 is wide-ranging and runs through 2028. Fanatics will sell branded-product, which include apparel and collectibles, online and in stores before and during the Olympics.
Fanatics will also operate in-venue retail locations throughout and around the LA28 footprint and other sites in Los Angeles to complement Fanatics’ existing relationship running online retail platforms for the Olympic Games and Team USA.
Fanatics will sell LA28 and Team USA-licensed merchandise, including hard goods, apparel, memorabilia and collectibles, and outfit the Los Angeles Games’ volunteers.
The partnership was brokered by U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Properties and built on Fanatics’ relationship with Team USA, which began in 2009. The partnership follows Fanatics’ October deal with the IOC, whereby Fanatics launched its first global online shop and acquired the rights to manufacture and sell city-specific merchandise for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, Milano Cortina and Los Angeles.
“With the Games coming to Los Angeles in 2028, there’s never been a more exciting time in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic movement,” said Peter Zeytoonjian, senior vice president of consumer products for U.S. Olympic and Paralympic properties. “Fans want to be part of the Games every step of the way and, as the industry leader, Fanatics is the perfect creative force to bring that journey to life through products and retail. They’ll bring continuous freshness to the market for fans while rapidly advancing retail technology to give consumers seamlessly, tailored experiences.”
“As excitement builds around the United States hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028, Fanatics is incredibly proud to be the official retail provider of LA28 and Team USA,” said Gary Gertzog, Fanatics president of business affairs. “We look forward to providing a best-in-class product assortment, as well as a heightened retail experience for fans whether attending the Games in Los Angeles or cheering from afar around the world.”
