Tail, Inc. will celebrate its 30th anniversary on November 17, marking three decades of high-quality, fashion-forward golf and tennis merchandise for women.

Tail opened its doors in 1974 when owner Cheryl Singer created a little denim tennis skirt with red hearts and a matching jacket. Joined by her brother Andy Varat, they flipped a coin to see who would be president or vice-president and have never looked back. In 1977, Tail added women’s golf apparel to its line and is now known as one of the leading manufacturers in the sporting goods industry.

The denim skirt can be found encased in glass and enshrined forever on a wall in the company’s headquarters. It receives the kind of reverence usually reserved for relics. “We never forget where we came from,” say Andy and Cheryl, “that way, we have a greater sense of who we are and where we are going.”

Today, Tail is known for its commitment to providing excellent customer service and innovative fashions. Tail merchandise can be found in country clubs, pro shops, resorts and specialty stores across the country. The company has 5 different and distinctive brands, Tail Tennis, Tail Golf, Tail Tech Golf, our newest brand of hip, advanced golf fashion technology, Tail2, our lifestyle line, and Cha-Ching, our fresh, flirty tennis, wear-anywhere line of clothing for fun-in-the-sun.
