Symphony Publishing, LLC, acquired the assets of Earnshaw Publications, publishers of Earnshaw’s Infants, Girls and Boys Wear Review, Footwear Plus and Small World as well as their associated websites. Terms of the transaction were not announced.

“We’re proud to be the next stewards of Earnshaw’s and Footwear Plus and hope to build upon the history of these great publications,” said Lee Zapis, president of Symphony Publishing, LLC.

Zapis has appointed Ross Garnick to publisher of Earnshaw’s and Footwear Plus.

“I’m excited to be working with a great company like Symphony and the staff in New York” said Garnick who is a 23-year veteran of the publishing industry who has previously worked with Miller Freeman/CMP, Billboard/VNU and Cherry Lane Publishing.

“The Earnshaw’s tradition of bringing the most useful and up-to-date information on the children’s apparel and juvenile products industries will continue with a vast number of improvements. We will be adding new editorial elements and continuing to evolve the design and layout of both Earnshaw’s and Footwear Plus. Our editorial coverage will continue to bring the most exciting, best-bets in children’s fashion and footwear to the retail buyer, but with significant additions of practical, useful information to help our readers improve their business prospects,” Zapis added.

Garnick said that the first course of business will be to re-launch the magazines and to establish new offices in Manhattan. “I’m looking forward to meeting with many members of the industry to discuss the challenges they face and the strategies for taking their business to the next level,” he added. “Our editors, who are industry veterans, will continue to work with the industry on a daily basis to provide accurate reporting and insight to the ever-changing face of the retail apparel and footwear business.”

Garnick adds, “We will also be significantly expanding our web-presence, as well as developing a number of exciting promotions and event-oriented marketing strategies in addition to the highly-successful Earnie and Plus award programs”.
