Suunto, the maker of above-ground and underwater navigational equipment, announced that effective January 1, 2025, it will distribute its products direct to the Dive channel in North America, which includes independent dive centers, dive instructors and schools and authorized Suunto resellers.

Dan Suher, head of sales at Suunto for the Americas region, noted that the decision to go direct “better aligns with the Suunto Dive business and with the operating model of Suunto’s other business units.”

The company also noted that it is working to set up all current Suunto retailer partners with direct purchasing accounts, fostering more direct lines of communication. It will also “meet or exceed margins and related terms previously provided by the company’s third-party distributor.”

With the change, Suunto will also increase its marketing efforts to drive the Dive category both at the brand awareness and grassroots/local level.
