All three suspects in the attack and plot to kidnap Columbia Sportswear Chairwoman Gert Boyle last November have pled guilty. The last suspect, Ramone Midence, 42, on April 7 agreed to a last-minute plea deal to kidnapping and burglary just before the trial was to begin.

The deal will put Midence behind bars for 9½ years instead of the more than 20 years in prison if he would have been found guilty. The other defendants, 40-year-old Nestor Gabriel Cabellero Gutierrez  and 47-year-old Jose Luis Arevalo, already pled guilty in the case and face similar sentences.

As reported, Boyle, who is 87-years old, was confronted outside her home in West Linn, OR and ordered inside the house. At gunpoint, she was forced into her bedroom, where her hands were tied behind her back and her mouth was stuffed with a necktie. She was able to thwart the attack by setting off a burglar alarm.
