Supreme, a New York-based apparel brand, collaborated with the MTA on a limited-edition MetroCard stamped with Supreme’s red and white logo.
The popular urban label recently teamed up with The North Face on a fall/winter collection, and its Spring 2017 offering is causing buzz at the brand’s Lafayette store.
The Supreme MetroCard was announced on the @NYCTSubway Twitter account on the morning of February 20, followed by an additional tweet of participating locations: Broadway-Lafayette, 125th Street/Lenox Avenue, Prince Street, Spring Street (the 6 line), and Union Square in Manhattan; Queensboro Plaza in Queens; and Marcy Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.
The cards have a face value of $5.50, but due to hype and rarity their prices have soared above $100 on Ebay.
