STX has signed a sponsorship agreement with tournament and ice hockey experience company 200×85, LLC.

The three-year partnership with 200×85 includes title sponsorship of three hockey tournaments each year including the STX Chi-Town Shuffle and the development and launch of the STX Hockey Combine for U14 players.

“200×85 has a long history of providing high level hockey experiences for elite players,” said Matt Hoppe, STX Senior Global Brand Manager. “Our partnership allows STX the opportunity to provide support and guidance to some of the strongest hockey tournaments and player development experiences in North America. We are ecstatic about the future of STX hockey and the potential of this partnership.”

The STX Chi-Town Shuffle, an annual elite level tournament targeted to boys’ and girls’ AAA Elite and AAA/AA divisions, will be held April 18-20, 2014. This established tournament draws in over 2,500 players each year. Additionally, STX will be the title sponsor of two new tournaments supporting the growth of hockey at all levels, including the STX Holiday Classic an A/AA tournament and STX CAN/AM AAA Series, an elite level tournament where teams from the US and Canada compete for North American bragging rights.

“This announcement is terrific news for 200×85. The Chi-Town Shuffle tournament is extremely important to the AA/AAA hockey community, and we certainly appreciate the increased commitment to this event from our partners at STX,” said Kevin Mann, President at 200×85. “We look forward to developing more 200×85 Elite Hockey Experiences with STX all the while looking for ways to clear the path for young hockey players to prosper. The STX Brand is synonymous with excellence in sporting goods equipment and we are so delighted to welcome the company as a title sponsor.”

In conjunction with 200×85, STX will also be developing an exclusive Hockey Combine for the top 68 U14 hockey athletes in the country. During a weekend of games, testing combines and skills competitions the program will connect elite players with top coaches, seminars and testing. This invitation-only event will be the annual first look at the future of hockey, building the core for future top players who are just four years out from their draft season.
