StockX has hired Brendan Dunne, most recently head of sneakers at Complex, as senior director of customer community and engagement. In this role, Dunne will oversee editorial content and deepen the company’s connection with its audience of primarily Millennials, Gen Z, and increasingly, Generation Alpha.

At Complex, Dunne oversaw editorial strategy, partnerships and content. He also hosted the podcasts “Complex Sneakers” and “Full Size Run,” both of which focused on sneaker culture. He has also worked on campaigns featuring Foot Locker, Adidas, and Reebok, and conducted interviews with sneaker designers Tinker Hatfield, Jerry Lorenzo, Action Bronson, Lupe Fiasco, and J Balvin.

“Since day one, our customers have been at the center of everything we do, and listening to our customers continues to be an important part of how our platform evolves,” said StockX CEO Greg Schwartz. “With this role, we’re doubling down on our approach to community and customer engagement, and Brendan is the ideal person to drive that effort.”

“Brendan brings a rare blend of editorial savvy, cultural fluency and a genuine passion for the spaces we play in, said Katy Cockrel, VP head of global communications at StockX. “As we continue to embrace the communities that shape our brand, his perspective will be critical in helping us connect more authentically and intentionally.

“I’ve spent my career telling stories about sneaker culture and the communities that power it, said Dunne. “I’m excited to join StockX at a time of continued growth, and I look forward to building new bridges between the brand and sneaker fans around the world.”

Dunne will be based in New York City and regularly travel to StockX’s global headquarters in Detroit, MI.
