Stack Athletics has acquired Vulcan Pickleball, a legacy equipment manufacturer with deep roots in the sport of pickleball.
“The strategic move solidifies Stack’s commitment to shaping the future of pickleball through innovation, design, and brand leadership,” the company commented in a media statement. “With this acquisition, Stack adds one of the sport’s most respected names to its portfolio, marking a union between legacy craftsmanship and modern innovation.”
Vulcan Pickleball, which has been rebranded from Vulcan Sporting Goods, will continue to operate as its own brand.
“Vulcan is a brand we’ve long respected and one that has contributed meaningfully to the growth of pickleball,” said Jeremy Nef, president, Stack Athletics. “By bringing together Vulcan’s legacy and Stack’s forward-thinking approach to design, community, and brand, we’re creating something truly powerful. This acquisition isn’t just about products. It’s about redefining what it means to lead in this industry.”
Under Stack’s ownership, the Vulcan VPRO Flight Pickleball is set to become the official ball of Major League Pickleball (MLP), DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) and the events it owns and operates, including High School Pickleball, Minor League Pickleball and Collegiate Pickleball, and The Picklr, the world’s largest indoor pickleball franchise.
Stack Athletics describes itself as a premium pickleball apparel and performance brand, founded on a passion for performance and style. The company said it has quickly gained recognition as one of the most brand-forward companies in pickleball.
Chaifetz Group, owners of Major League Pickleball’s St. Louis Shock franchise and a broad portfolio of other organizations in the sport, also participated in the acquisition and will hold an interest in the merged companies and a seat on the newly created Board of Directors.
