Chicago-based bike parts manufacturer SRAM hired Josh Kendrick as vice president of marketing and communication, assuming the role held by David Zimberoff, who is leaving the company after heading the department for over 24 years.

Kendrick’s official start date was July 1. He is working alongside Zimberoff through September, who is supporting the transition. Kendrick works from SRAM’s Colorado Springs, CO facility.

Kendrick spent 22 years working for Red Bull Energy Drink, first as a communication and media relations manager, departing in 2022 as the company’s U.S.-based head of athlete marketing and sports performance. Kendrick spent the past year working with SRAM, focused on athlete sponsorship.

“SRAM is a special place, and I’m honored to be a part of this organization,” said Kendrick. “This company is fueled by passion and strong principles. SRAM is very clear about its purpose, which they articulate very well through their people, brand activities and products. I will work to continue their growth and elevate SRAM’s brands in the most positive and meaningful ways.”

“Josh’s skill set and personality are a great fit for us. His experience speaks for itself,” said SRAM CEO Ken Lousberg. “He will bring his world-class marketing experience to our brands.”

Zimberoff took over as vice president of marketing and communication in 1999, four years after founding SRAM’s ID group. He is leaving SRAM to focus on a transportation research project for the non-profit World Bicycle Relief.

SRAM sells under the brands SRAM, Avid, RockShox, Truvativ, Quarq, Zipp, TIME Sport pedals, Hammerhead cycling computers, and Velocio cycling apparel.
