Spy Optic has brought on Pete Andersen to oversee its Snowboard category. Andersen’s role will encompass managing all marketing and team aspects of Spy’s snowboard involvement, including promotions, athlete management, media outreach and content development.

Andersen comes to Spy with an extensive snowboarding background-first as a professional athlete and member of the infamous B.C.-based Wildcats, as an announcer/MC for numerous Canadian Snowboard events such as the World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler, and as a writer for a number of the world’s most-respected snowboard magazines including TransWorld Snowboarding and SBC Snowboard Canada. In addition, Andersen has also recently been contributing to Spy’s multimedia cache by filming and editing the Spy teams travels across the globe.

Andersen will report to Spy’s Sports Marketing Manager Rudy Vasquez. Vasquez comments, “We are psyched to have Pete on board with Spy. I knew through his previous media contributions to our marketing efforts that his drive, work ethic and credibility in the snow world make him the perfect fit. We are excited to see where he will take this program and know it will be nothing but a great direction for our team and our brand.”
