SportsShoes.com, the UK-based online retailer for run, gym and hike, hired Georgia Malir, its first partnerships coordinator, to manage run and fitness community partnerships. She joined the company from Saucony, where she was a technical rep.

In her new role, Malir will support SportsShoes.com’s partnership strategy with the day-to-day management of its running and fitness partnerships, including communicating with over 1,000 running clubs, coordinating event sponsorships, and optimizing media and more comprehensive group partnerships.

Malir is an active runner and ranked No. 772 in the world women’s marathon category. She achieved a 2:39:47 time at the Valencia Marathon in December 20232.

Established in 1982, the Bradford-headquartered retailer offers over 17,000 products from 150 global running and outdoor brands. From a Running perspective, these include Asics, Nike, Adidas, Hoka, and New Balance. In Outdoor, they include Haglöfs, Mammut, Rab, and Patagonia.

Commenting on her hire, Malir said, “I am excited to join the SportsShoes.com team, and I alookforward to working with our new and existing partners to help support everyone at any stage of their running and fitness journey. As a keen runner, I experience the benefits of physical activity daily. Therefore, I am delighted to join SportsShoes.com on their mission to help customers lead happier and healthier lives through running and fitness.”

SportsShoes.com recently announced an exclusive retail partnership with community event network Parkrun. Supporting over nine million registered park runners across 23 countries, this is the largest retail partnership the company has secured to date. Alongside Parkrun, SportsShoes.com also has exclusive running events and community retail partnerships with England Athletics and RunThrough.

SportsShoes.com’s managing director, Brett Bannister, said, “Helping people lead healthier and happier lives lies beyond offering a best-in-class retail experience. It also means playing a meaningful role within the running community. Achieving this means ensuring our running and fitness partnerships deliver value and visibility. Georgia brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our sector and will play a crucial role in driving our partnership strategy forward.”
