After failed lease negotiations with the buildings owners, Sportsmans Warehouse said it would close its Billings, MT store today just 18 months after opening it…

Sportsmans Warehouse CEO, John Schaefer states, We have been engaged in an ongoing discussion with the buildings owners but have been unable to either extend the current lease or negotiate a new lease agreement. The landlord has informed us that we must vacate the building by March 1, 2010, the end of the current lease term. While our experience in Billings has been very successful we are put in the unenviable position of having to vacate the premises.

While the store closing is unfortunate, Schaefer notes that the companys growth and ability to achieve benchmark goals will continue.

Our loyal customers in Billings and elsewhere will soon have the opportunity to shop on our new e-commerce site that will be launching later this summer, he said. We expect our online shopping venue to give many consumers who may not live near one of our store locations the opportunity to see why Sportsmans Warehouse is the preferred retailer of knowledgeable outdoorsmen everywhere.
