Some 190 exhibitors from 10 countries have set up booths at the AsiaWorld-Expo to display their latest products for buyers visiting Sports Source Asia (SSA) which runs until Oct. 29.


The show, organized by MMI Asia Pte Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), features group pavilions from Korea and Taiwan, as well as Ningbo and Zhejiang provinces on the Chinese mainland. SSA also will also present a Premium Zone with major sporting brands including ERKE sportswear, Speedo digital equipment, Komda bicycles and more. A new feature of the fair this year will be a new Fitness Zone.

The event also features two sports parades and a seminar on Sportswear Design Trends Forecasts for Fall/Winter 2011/12 by Creative Trends Services. Visitors will be able to attend a seminar about the SizeChina research project, and how results of the Hong Kong-organised study can be applied to design of sportswear and equipment’.


Hong Kong’s exports of sporting goods jumped 6.7% to HK$26.6 billion in the first eight months of 2010, with the top five export destinations the United States, Japan, the Chinese mainland, Germany and the United Kingdom. Hong Kong’s imports of sporting goods also rose by 14 per cent over the same period in 2009.
