Sports Authority announced a new strategic partnership with Under Armour through the MapMyFitness platform, where The League by Sports Authority members can be rewarded for completing activities within the app.
The ongoing partnership begins with the launch of an interactive challenge for Under Armour Connected Fitness users (a community 150 million strong) who can also earn loyalty points and rewards for The League.
“We are excited to announce this first-of-its-kind partnership with Under Armour that directly links workout activity to The League by Sports Authority loyalty rewards,” said Ron Stoupa, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Sports Authority. “It is a win-win for users to be able to earn The League points and rewards simply by being active. At Sports Authority, we believe in the good of sport and are proud to reward customers who track their activity through MapMyFitness.”
The first challenge, “Back on Track”, kicks off today on the MapMyFitness app, available on the App Store and Google Play. When members log three workouts or 10 miles a week, they have a chance to win a $500 Sports Authority gift card.
“This loyalty program showcases the capabilities of the MapMyFitness platform, providing our growing community with the opportunity to earn rewards through an active lifestyle,” Warren Kay, VP of advertising at Under Armour said. “Sports Authority is a trusted retail partner of Under Armour and our brands share a mission to empower athletes worldwide through both footwear and apparel and the digital tools to manage their health and fitness.
