Sport Hansa LLC, the importer and distributor of European outdoor lines, has relocated from Boulder, CO to Asheville, NC.

“As we continued to expand our customer base and add further European brands, we looked for a location that offered key attributes such as a business friendly environment and a cluster of other important players in the outdoor industry. After an extensive search, Asheville continually came up at the top of our lists”, stated Matt Huff, Managing Director of Sport Hansa.

Additionally, Sport Hansa is pleased to announce that John Stephens has been appointed director of marketing and inside sales. For the past nine years, Stephens has worked as the hard goods buyer at Arden, NC-based Diamond Brand. Stephens will be tasked with designing and implementing programs to better support the company’s outdoor retail customers in the USA and Canada, as well as liaising with our partners in the Media to continue to tell Sport Hansa’s European brands’ stories.

Those brands include Helle knives of Norway, Kupilka camping dishware of Finland, Montane technical outerwear and Terra Nova tents of the United Kingdom, as well as Wetterlings Axe Works of Sweden. Stephens’ appointment takes place immediately.

In May, Sport Hansa appointed Summit Sales as representative for Helle and Wetterlings in the Southeast. “Helle Norwegian knives and Wetterlings Swedish axes naturally complement our other brands such as Victorinox and Fenix,” said Phil Montgomery, principal of Summit. “We expect these Scandinavian lines to be of great interest to our customer base.”

Sport Hansa also announces the addition effective June 1st of Campbell Sports. Campbell Hough and Chad Bambrough will represent Helle and Wetterlings in the Mountain Region.
